Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient surgical procedure to modify the size or shape of the nose (hence, the surgery is often called a “nose job” in Albuquerque and throughout the country); the procedure may be performed whether the disfigurement or undesirable feature is genetically acquired or from a sustained injury. Undesirable features—such as a dorsal hump, bulbous or malformed nasal tip, wide nasal bridge or a crooked nose—can be corrected with a rhinoplasty. Revision rhinoplasty is performed when additional rhinoplasty surgery is performed after the initial surgery.
